hatchling meal..

Hi there!I'm new to snapping turtles and I'd like to know what a really young one have to eat. Is commercial turtle-food ok?

Welcome to the world of snappers!!!
While commerically prepared turtle food is easy to come by, its not sufficient to keep your turtle at its peak, and on the tips of his toes.

A good diet for your little guy can consist of; baby/chopped up earthworms, pinhead crickets(baby crickets), beefheart, baby guppies, greens(although your little one may not accept, this source of food so readily), shrimp, bloodworms, ETC

bugs, chicken turkey beefheart shiners, guppies, crayfish, shrimp, retomin, tadpoles, frogs, etc........ literally everything and anything that they can fit in their mouths that is mostly meat....they're garbage disposals. have fun!!
