Lets try my questions this way...

Who here has built their own rack for their leos?

And who here has bought a rack for the leos?

I need some feedback on racks. I've never looked for one until now. I need to decide if I should just buy one, or build one. Thanks!

It depends greatly on you. Do you have the skill level that might be required? Also the tools. What is your money situation? I built my racks. I'm a carpenter by trade(somtimes) for me to build it was realitivley easy. As well as cost effective. I have seen some of the racks people have posted and while effective some are not to pretty to look at. So cosmetics would also play a part the racks that can be bought are great looking and very convienent. Without having purchased any pre biult units I can't speak to the quality of any specific brands. I Know that Steve bekerman(E2macpets) is an animal plastics rep and their stuff looks nice and so does the stuff from boaphile. Both have links a the top of the page. I'm going to include a link to a how to that was posted by Rob Jenkins that is pretty through and well done. In the end you have to make the decision for yourself. Just trying to give you some things to think about. Robs post

I thought I would add a picture of one of my racks. Also If you decide to build your own you might think about buying the video that is offered buy the Urban Jungle. Craig does a pretty goo job showing how he built his racks. They also have a link at the top of the page.

I just got thru with another rack for my leopards, all i need to do is add the heat tape and it is ready to use. As soon as i bring it to the house from the shop ill take some pics. This one will hold 20 sweaterboxes. I like some of these new expanded PVC racks because they are alot lighter, but it is cheaper to build your own. Maybe one of these days i can afford to spend a couple grand on some racks, but for now ill just build them as i need them
