Keeping up humidity

JenniferLM22 Mar 25, 2004 02:33 PM

I was wondering what everyone uses to keep the humidity up in their iguana's cages??? I just picked up a ZooMed Haba Mist. It was on clearance for $10.00 for $80.00 so I thought I would give it a try. Does anyone else use the haba mist? What are your opinions? I was also thinking about getting one of those mister things that you put in water and it creates low clouds if the haba mist doesn't get the humidity up enough.

Any replies are apreciated.

I suggest going the cheap route and go to a local Wal-Mart or K-Mart or something and buy a regular humidifier (I own a Ultrasonic(tm) Humidifier). They can be purchased relatively cheap and give off a lot of mist even in my 6X5X4 enclosure. To make sure Miles doesnt dry out, I mist him and his plants down 2-3 times a day. He enjoys being misted with cool water when he is under his basking bulbs as well.

Good luck.

I bought a cool-mist humidifier (from Walmart, actually!) for Bud, but backed out of putting it in his enclosure, because I know he is big enough to climb it and knocking ig over. Also, it takes up so much room on the "second floor" that he goes to eat on and swim on! How do you have yours set up?

Well, maybe my enclosure is bigger, but it seems to fit just fine in the front right hand corner of his enclosure. The floor is about 4x5 in area so it fits fine. Also, it is an older one and is pretty big, and when filled with water becomes pretty heavy. Id like to see my ig try and move it! You can see it here on the bottom of the enclosure to the right of the water dish. Its that big plastic green thing.
