nose crusties?

antares Mar 25, 2004 05:39 PM

I think my bearded might have a cold, but I'm not sure. We've noticed a bit of white crusting around his nostrils and rarely he'll take a very deep breath. He's always done the deep breath but I don't know if that's normal. Is he sick? If so, what should I do? Would raising the temps be good?

Well it could be a respitory infection. I would raise the temps in the cage, get it off any dusty substrate, and make an apptmt for the vet so you can get some baytril and a proper diagnosis

Is he/she shedding? We just had Dracoins shed recently, and he looked like he was gaping a little after a partial head shed. I looked at his nose and noticed he had shed skin around his nose. I reached in and peeled it off, and a PLUG came out of his left nostril. The plug was the same color as his skin shed, so I guess BDs shed skin out of the nostrils as well. He definitely has stopped gaping since we did that.
