Kane heat pads with Envirotex lite sealed wooden cage?

dmac Mar 25, 2004 06:03 PM

Has anybody else done this? I know the Envirotex product claims it's heat resistant, and also the Kane heat pad is insulated from the bottom, but my question is-has anybody done this? I am planning on using the Kane inside the tank (with a thermostat of course.) Any info on either product would be appreciated.

Hello, I only use Kane heat pads in my Boas cages. The cages I made myself from wood, then put linoleum on the floor. I've had no problems, the heat doesn't transfer through the bottom of the pad.
I hope this helps!!!

Steve and I use Kane Heat mats in our cages which we constructed, our mats are seperated by a sheet of wood but they work amazingly and we have never had any problems with the mats, PLUS if you buy from a manufactor they come with a life time warrenty, which is awesome tooo... Sooooo i would recommend the Kane mats they are Awesome!

Sincerely,

Dang, I never thought of that! You just saved me a bunch of money (like I switched to Gyco!) A little marine caulking and presto. Reminds me of a joke I heard comparing men to linoleum. Lay 'em right the first time, an' you can walk on it for years!
