Iowa Alligator Permits?

Hi, i was wondering how i go about getting a permit for an american alligator in the state of Iowa. If anyone has any ideas theyd gladly be appreciated. Thanks alot

If memory serves, Iowa doesn't regulate at the state level but rather allows the cities and counties do the regulation as they see fit. I would say that if you live in an area that prohibits ownership of crocodilians, you will have a very difficult time getting a permit issued to you. Check with your local city hall about animal ordnances. You should be able to find the regs in your local library too, but they may not be up to date.
