Arabesque.....

mdc Mar 25, 2004 08:35 PM

I was wondering why I never see any arabesques on here or in the classifieds. Are they not popular, or are there just not that many of them around? I think they are a great looking boa, and I think there are still a lot of things to do with them such as sunglow arabesques, not to mention that we haven't even seen a super arabesque yet.
Just wanted to get some opinions on this. Also, do you think they will hold there value?

Thanks,
Matt

You don't see very many because all that are produced are bought with out the sellers having to advertise them. They are snatched up by smart people ! Some of the largest boa producers out there produce them, and they are now available in het for albino arabesque & albino arabesque. The albino arabesque's especially are incredible animals - I saw one at Pete Kahls place that was orange & pink ! It was Stunning ! They are one of the top morphs to be working with in my opinion, right up there with Jungles & Motleys.

I happened to be at the M.A.R.S when Steve first displayed them, and,I've been facinated with them ever since...this one is het. albino, and, shows some great base color, the pic is now several months old, and,I need to get some new ones. What I'd like to know is...Whatever happened to those "sunburst Arabesques" that Mirone, and,Steve were working on???? I thought by now there'd be a few of those around...as for their potential,I agree, still alot of untried avenues...I've got my fingers crossed that 04 will be a good year for them!(I'd like to get an albino to pair up with this guy!)

I thought this female would make an interesting match in a couple of years?...(Arabesque,Harlequin hypos,50%poss.het. albino...of course, each one would come with a little red wagon to tote their name around in!*lol*)

Absolutely gorgeous animals. I am sooooo jealous of all those beatiful animals you have. For some reason I am just fascinated with the arabesques. Most people don't like all the flecking, but I think it makes them very distint and beautiful. When I purchase one, I intend to get one with lots of black flecking like yours. Simply amazing. I just can't wait to own one. I hope to get a female het albino and then breed her to this guy.

If it makes you feel any better,I'm jealous of that dang albino! what a "hummer"!!! he's really getting some serious color! paired up with an Arab het. you'll be pulling your hair out waiting on that litter! *lol*

but she's gotten so BIG now that she's difficult to photograph LOL! Mine is about 5 feet long now and she'll definitely be ready to go for us next season so we're looking forward to that! I'm not sure what I'm going to pair her up with yet. I think Sunglow Arabesques will be really cool because of the awesome coloration that Sunglows have. Whatever we decide though...I'm sure it'll be cool! I really do love these guys and can't wait to see if there's a super form.

I love that golden coloration they get with age! I know what you mean about trying to get good shots of the bigger ones! best of luck with your breedings this year!

She is even more stunning in "snake".....but then, I think all Arabesques are probably best appreciated in the flesh. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, Celia.

I think if the super arabesques look really nice arabesques will be in great demand for years to come. Hypo arabesques I think will be well sought after and I bet the sunglow arabesque will be one of the nicest morphed out boas around. So skies the limit on those. I think that people just havent really "dug" the dirtier look to them so thats why they never really got the popularity vote for the prettiest boa morph. However I think that like the albinos with some selected breeding they will clean up. The project is still in its infancy. Any how I just looked at my post above and it does look very "addish" sorry bout that its not an ad. I will probably keep all the babies to myself anyhow Wouldnt you?

I know what you mean about the "dirtier" look with the speckling....however, the Arabesque is the only boa I like with speckling. I think it adds to the whole lacey look of the pattern.

Rainshadow Mar 26, 2004 07:24 AM

You're keeping them all, except the one I'm sending Tim...? I figured that's what you meant...*lol*
