Beardie Throwing up??????

Tumtum03 Jun 12, 2003 01:02 PM

I got my little girl in october of this last year, and since she has been great, good eater, both veggies and insects. Well today I came home from work and I see that she has thrown up her crickets from yesterday. She has never done this before! She did eat quite a bit yesterday, more then usual for her, could that have anything to do with it? Her stool and everything is normal, and she is acting as she always does. Also I switched her to a bigger cage about two days ago, would that have anything to do with it either? I mean she doesn't seem stressed out or anything. I was just curious if you think I should take her to the vet or not to have her checked out???

she could be stressed out from the change but i would definatly check your temperatures, you need to have a basking temp of at least 105 for her to digest her food, she may not have the correct temps in her new enclosure and they may be too low for proper digestion.

My Beardies have thrown up before when I've fed them to many crickets at one time...

Yes, the other suggestions are things you should check. Also, did you feed close to lights out time? Beardies should have at least a couple hours of basking time after you have fed them. This ensures proper digestion.
