Funny gecko story:

davecable Mar 25, 2004 10:31 PM

So I was getting ready to head out this afternoon, and I went to put on my new shoes. When I started to put my foot in, I knew something wasn’t right. It felt like the shoe padding was bunched up or something had fallen into my shoe. So I stick my hand in there see what was wrong, and I felt something move. It really startled me, and it took me a few seconds to figure out what had happened. So it turns out that one of my juvi females was in my shoe, curled up near the toe. I hadn’t even noticed that she was missing from her cage, what a surprise it was.

I’m pretty sure I know when she got out, I was cleaning their cage the other day and the lid was off for a while. Just a reminder to all of you to do a head count when your done cleaning. Also, if you gecko runs away, you might wana check in your shoes.

I know this could have turned out bad, but I got a good chuckle out of it when everything was said and done. Live and learn I guess,

DaveCable

wow, what a pic. Feeding time at the zoo. lol. Man good thing she did not get squished. We stuck a toad in a guys boot at work once. Needless to say the toad did not come out with such a happy ending.

That is funny and i'm glad all is Ok. *knock on wood* none of my geckos have escaped. Most of the time i put my geckos into another tank, with a secure top while i'm cleaning. This only poses a problem when i want to clean the boys tanks cause i have to use a different tank to hold each of the guys.

Today is clean the 40 gal day. I spot clean daily but these girls have decided to poop between the glass and the tile...completely off the papertowels. So much for being trained LOL I'll have to keep an eye on 5 girls....hehe

Is the girl that escaped from the group in the pic you showed?

The leo who got loose is the one on the wood. She’s quite the climber!
