This is right before he died. You can already see he is impacted in this picture. Those little white pieces of perlite are the culprit. That's his new mate, Oprah( not tame), in the foreground. She's back on the cocunut fiber and is doing great. I just want to reiterate. He was on this substrate for no more than 36 hrs and it killed him.

Great looking skinks sorry he died. I use soil for my ground skinks and found it great. The soil that doesnt contain any fertilizer,chemicals,or any thing added is great.
If you ever opt to use soil again just buy the raw nothing added soil some places sell it as organic.Those little white dots added are terrible.
Ofcourse if you like coconut bark than stick with that.
