This pic was taken by John Macgregor and was originally published in the Audubon Field Guide To Rept.& Amph. of N. America. This pic is what got me into Kings many years ago. Ive posted it here before but thought I would again. Thru Phil Peak I was actually able to get permission to use this pic on my website which was quite a thrill for me to actually talk via email with the guy who got me hooked onto Kings.

I wouldn't go that far Hillson! It's a great looking Eastern, but man there are so many cool looking Easterns that I'd have a hard time choosing - I prefer the broader-banded Easterns myself, but to each their own!

Good news on the site - can't wait to see the new look!

BTW Badger Boy, I'm not a hillbilly LOL You're family's from the hill country of 'Bama, mine's from the redneck, Bayou La Batre line of 'Bama folks (and some NW Florida redneck lines too LOL).

Just kidding man. It's all about taste though. An eastern like that does nothing for me. I definitely prefer the wider banded easterns.

...just sent you some pics of a NC eastern for the new site

those I got from Kevin E. last year. They're big (already 27" and growing faster now with spring in the air) and I like the broad bands that extend all the way to the edge of the belly, but leaving the belly completely black. I like the nice shiny black coat of the one you posted, but I have an Eastern Indigo for that (color selection) LOL!
I guess to each his own . . . But still a nice Kingsnake Keith!
