could being in shed be a reason for refusing food (kinda long sorry)

i went to the store today and saw the other 3 bal pythons who were with mine beofre i got him, are all going into shed, and because of being kept at poor conditions (IMO) at the store they are all having horrible sheds and little pieces are coming off as they go. now when i handled my bp last time it kind of looked like he was gonna shed, his checkerboard pattern on his belly, was blue, but i didnt see his eyes get all cloudy, is it possible that i missed this like i did with my corn the past week? ive kept his humidity at a 70% level these past few days just because i think he is going to shed. i will continue to keep it up but will this be enough to make it so if he is going to shed, he will do so without a problem? ive tried humid hides and he ends up pushing them into one of his water dishes lol little bugger

so if i am keeping it at a constant 60-70-80% humidity will he be ok? also ive seen him soaking a few days ago and when he soaks, he does so for atleast an hour, onetime he was in the dish for a whole night.
i dont think ill try to feed him as it may add stress so ill just try to leave him for a few days and keep his humidity up and see what happens...does this sound ok? thanks for the help
Chuck

I think you're right - sounds like he's about to shed. Just keep the humidity where you've had it and as long as he has something to rub on to start the shed (branch, etc) he should shed well.

How long ago was it when you first noticed he was blue?
