UVB Light, No Heat

For the last week, I have had a new Turtle. I put a UVB light over him, but today found out that it is not producing much heat at all. I changed it out with a heat bulb for right now and he has been basking all day except for a few minutes here and there. Is he going to be all right? Thanks and God Bless
