My female blizzard may be egg bound.

rich_123 Mar 26, 2004 05:28 PM

It's been nearly 6 weeks since I've bred my female blizzard and she's still retaining her first clutch. I've given her a calcium dish and have supplemented her gutloaded mealworms at every feeding. She was not underweight when I bred her either (she was 45 grams). Should I worry about her being egg bound at this time? If not, when should I start to worry?

I remember someone else having this same problem but I couldn't find the post, so answers as soon as possible will be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I forgot to mention that I've provided for her an egg-laying chamber as well.

Try warm water and wait for about 15 mintures and left in cage if she did not laid wggs. then take her to Vet that has experince with Herp. Plesase don't breed her under 55g agian! Unless, she is small breeder! I hate to see people breed bit too early. I always reecomds to start breed when the weight stayed the same weight for more than 1 1/2 to 2 months
