Sorry I have more questions, I'm doing a new set-up

lizzylizard Mar 26, 2004 11:42 PM

I'm getting some juvies at the end of next month. For anyone who has time to answer question thanks in advance.

Are there any poisonous plants? I just got a couple of air plants, a jade plant, and a cool unprickly cactus that looks like a minny palm tree. I planted the last two small planters with bead-a-beast and I'm going to cover that with stones so they cannot digest.

I also just got a bunch of nice big slate pieces, what can I use to fill in the cracks. Would sand (only so crickets cannot hide) covered with stones like river rock be ok? Any other options? Coolgecko said something about making the sand harden. How do you do this?

One more, sorry. What do you use in a moist hide for juvies, I was planning on using paper towel, any other options?

So sorry for all of the questions, I'll post pictures of the finished product tomorrow when I'm done. Thanks again,

Lisa

wat i did is just took some calci sand which i am prolly going to take out next time i redo tank and my dad works at a gravel pit. i just had him get me the thinest rocks he could. and i made alot of caves. about 5-10 i think so many cant remme. and i took calc (non toxic) and put the stones together didnt want the stones to fall onto the geko at all. and then just to make sher they wouldnt i stuck a hide imbetween the cave so that the geko could go in there. instead of being right underneath the rocks. my male loves a rock that i have sitting over top of the heating pad cause the rock is nice and warm on his tummy( for some reason he likes hot stuff NOT COLD). and i made a center pice of about 6 flat rocks and made a see through cave it looks great. i have got fake plants in side of there. and about 2 water dishes when i get pics develouted i show everyone wat it looks like

No problem, I'm one of the worlds worst spellers as well. I usually spell check everything before I post. I don't know what I would do without it .

I have no idea about the plants...the stones between slate pieces would be fine...how big is the leo you're getting? if its at around 40g you could just use sand between the tiles and not worry about it too much...unless of course you saw him licking at it...lol

I'm getting three females all about one month, definitely not 40g. I bought calcium sand today (returning it tommorow) to put in the cracks.

I guess you could just put stones in the cracks...I dunno...lol
