Update on Bronx and more eggs on the way???

RedQuake Mar 27, 2004 08:38 AM

I've posted before about Bronx not using his humid hide with moist papertowels when he sheds resulting in a bath to get the skin off which he hates. Well i put in a container of moist vermiculite (no arguements please) and he loves it. Its the place i find him every morning. I also cleaned out his tank yesterday and he didn't freak out once.

Now about the more egg thing.....Karma is gravid and has been walking around her tank non stop all morning. She isn't to interested in her lay box, she's actually in the opposite corner of the tank climbing the glass. Its cool cause i can see the eggs in her belly. Should i take this as a sign she might lay soon??? I'm starting work at 3pm and i wont' be home until 8am tomorrow. I'm going to have my brother check in on her throughout the day/night. I'm also picking up my hovabator today on my way into work.

Thanks,
Red

I am no expert, but I do watch my leos with much frequency. I find that when they are gravid, they will try to climb the glass, and will use their hammocks more, and climb on the hides. I think maybe they stand up to move the eggs downwards or something? I think it is a sign that they are going to lay within a few days. I have 2 gravid geckos now, and they seem to be climbing the most before they lay eggs. Be ready.

Figures i'll be getting eggs when i'm doing my stretch of 17 hour shifts at work......grrrrr LOL. I'm picking up the incubator on my way in and i'll be playing with it on my overnight shift to see how to put it together

I'll be back on the forums in a few days....but i'll be checking my email between shifts
