Sorry got a question about my new hovabator

RedQuake Mar 27, 2004 09:09 AM

Its in and i'm going to pick it up on my way into work. The supplier informed me that there are two types of thermal air incubators which he sells one with two windows (that i see pics of on here alot) and one with one large window. He was only able to bring in the large window one. I was assured this is one that does not have the turbo fan. Anyways, seeing as i'll be setting it up tomorrow when i get home from work, i would like to know if room temps will affect the temps inside the incubator? The gecko room is approx. 75 degrees.

Thanks for the input...i'm so excited now i probably wont' get back to sleep.....which i need to do badly LOL. I'll most likely play with the incubator while i'm at work LOL

I'll check back before i leave for work

yes red in hobovators your room or ambioent temp will cause temp fluctuations... i would suggest getting one of those inferared temp guns and a accurate thermometer with a probe... i buy the thermometers at wal mart... they are called indoor out door thermometers and have a long white cord thing "thats the probe well the thing at the end is LOL) put the thermomters outside the hobiovator and the probe inside and change the settings as needed... minimal fluctuations is okay 1-2 plus or minus on either the cooler or warmer side but i wouldnt let it get that much more especially on the high end

Thankyou Robin. I do have a few of those thermometers now, using them in the current incubator. I have them in my tanks, with the probe at floor level and the display up higher on the glass so i can monitor the air temps as well. I'm goign to go buy one of the thermometers with a probe that also gives humidity levels just for the incubator.

Thanks again. This room is stable at 75 degrees so i shouldn't have much trouble
