Mine arent near as big as I thought so I wonder about all the others . Take a minute to take a bad pic from above of your animals next to a ruler or some other known sized object. The pic has to be from directly above or it doesnt work. If you dont know how to use serpwidgets post the pic and I will do it for you. Anyone is welcome to check my pics for accuracies as well.

so we've learned some of these big snakes aren't as long as we think...we've imposed some fact in place of opinion...and it's because of people like you, keith (and hopefully a number of others who will follow your lead and post with their own honest widget results). My hat's off to you, keith, for having the...uhhhh....stones to stand up and kick off that honest process. To you!!

Thanks Terry. It was a bummer but they are no less beautiful because they are 6" shorter I still love them the same.

...of course mine are like boulders and yours (I hear!) are like cherry pits Badger Boy LOL

I agree it's time to put up or shut up in regards to snake sizes; I'm working this weekend so I'm going to get as many above shots of my big boys and girls and place them on here tonight or tomorrow. SerpWidget does a good job when you get a good above shot with a item of known length. For those measuring smaller snakes, a quarter is very close to 1" and is easy to use.

I think Keith is right...many of our snakes won't be as long as we think, at least that's what happened to me when I first used SerpWidget!

Peace.

...this guy still thinks he's on the loose. A handful, we got an estimate at 63". No giant, but an impressive snake nonthe less. Just beginning to hit his shed cycle and a bit dirtier than he really is. He strikes so hard he "jumps" his body off the table, so I (we) have to watch him carefully to avoid that. Of course that means getting tagged! He will calm down I'm sure and he's taken f/t just yesterday.

My Goini male measures 49 inches, my Cal king female (history unknown) measures 51" and the rest are shortter.
