adult male cage size?

crochuntermyhero Mar 27, 2004 12:53 PM

hello all

simple question i am looking into building a cage for my male burm he's only 5 feet right now so i have time to spare. But i need to know if a 7 foot long by 4 feet deep by 18-20 inches high is enough space for him? I'd imagine it's too small for the females but what about the guys??

thanks for any input

oh and i know sheets of plywood come in 8x4 measurements but the space in my bedroom is only 7 and some change long so 8 is a bit too large for the space thanks again

I'm no expert but 7'x4' sounds good to me for a male burm.

I'm no expert either but: the length and width sound perfect, I question the height. My 9' likes to move around allot. I'm making his cage 6X3X6.5. The height will be divided into 3 parts to allow for moving through doors. You might want to consider shortening the length to 6' as it will be a pain to get through a door even at that length. The bottom has the water sink and hide box, the middle is open space with floor heating and the top is like a second story. It will also have a floor with a small opening 2'X1' for him to transit to either section. This keeps him from being able to fall a long distance.

Just some thoughts.
