Herpind behind McDonalds

buddygrout Mar 27, 2004 01:55 PM

I went to get lunch for the family Saturday. They don't serve lunch until 11 here so I took about 15 minutes to walk the woods behind the place. I caught 4 anoles(brown) future snake food and a hatchling ringneck. He was in some discarded pool liner. There was also a lot of carpenter ants&larvae. I know hatchlings eat ant eggs I've seen them. No pictures Because it was an unplanned adventure.

I found about 20 worms, future snake and turtle food and some potato bugs. Oh yeah, and I also caught a Brown Snake, which is also future snake food. That day my baby Northern Ringneck Snake ate 2 worms, a pretty good day in my book, just not for herping.

Not sure of the sub-species, but this is a really cool looking ringneck snake.

It wasn't a guessing game, lol, I just liked the picture, it probably is a Prairie, I'm not 100% sure though.
