Hey all - major question - with gross warning. Rosie just voided a major white, brown squishy, mucousy mass - literally the size of her head. I noticed because she was licking her rear like a dog. It stank to high heaven, and no camera here today. She has been very sick and is severly underweight- being treated with panacur, hydrolife, jumpstart. Shows occasional interest in hunting, but misses the prey and then winds up being fed jumpstart just the same. Her skin is baggy around her stomach now - she looks alert, and hopefully won't pass away from this reent mystery. Could this have been an egg that she broke down and then passed b/c she's so sick? (she laid a clutch mmmm about five or six months ago before getting sick so could still have retained sperm. HELP. What was that huge glob - has anyone seen anything like this?????

Do you have a pic? My guess is a retained egg, but it could be a shed poop, though normally those don't smell.

But what exactly does a retained egg look like?....it wasn't a shed poop from anythign I'v seen with my guys. It was mucousy, had an awful stink, mostly white/light yellow, but with brown blobs too...and HUGE. She doesn't even have that much skin Any treatment after they pass a retinaed egg?

Well you see the thing is it could just be stinky, mucousy diarrhea. I would say keep treating for whatever you are treating her for, I think you mentioned she is on meds. Make sure she has access to fresh calcium powder every day.
