Tongue question

tc5000 Mar 27, 2004 03:17 PM

Has anyone here ever seen a Tegu missing the fork at the end of his tongue? He still flicks his tongue and it appears to have a slight split at the end but no real fork. I do not know if he was borne this way or if he lost it some how. Does anyone here know if this is a problem and if it was lost will he re-grow the fork?

Thank you for any help.

hi,

ive read that it sometimes happens, when tegus eat in groups...

i think it will affect the tegus ability to locate food slightly, and it wont regrow. but your tegu can definitly live a happy live without the fork.

have a nice one

ingo
