Quick field report from Missouri

BIG DONNIE BRASC Mar 27, 2004 07:56 PM

Met up with a fellow "poster" today and went out flipping rocks in the rain. Our goal was to find the first red milks of the year, but we'd have to settle for .....

WAY too many to count 5 line skinks
WAY WAAAAY too many to count prairie ringnecks
one VERY cute little prairie king
3 VERY fiesty redsided garters (crossed with pitbulls)
The 3rd and most beautiful garter was spotted by Matt, and it was actually out basking on the road. When we aproached, it flattened out REALLY flat and spread out. So flat in fact that we almost passed him off as a DOR until he tried to kill us both!
Then a few fellers from deliverence stopped and looked us over, so we left.

ANyone else finding much in the midwest yet?

Wish I could have gone. Now next weekend will be the first "everything" trip, and we will be knocking out all three types of milks from Kansas, syspila, intergrade, and gentilis. Fun fun fun....Well, glad you and Matt had a good time...chad
