I've been away from the forums for a year or more, but now I'm back. I've still been feeding RepCal pellets for about 4 or 5 years now, are they still the best dragon food available?
Thanks

Thats a good indicator
A lot of new supplements on the market and "garnishes" but rep-cal is still the best liked pellet food as far as I can tell.

If your dragons are doing good on the rep-cal pellets, there is really no reason to stop. Your question is are they still the best dragon food...I'm going to have to say no IMO. There are 3 somewhat new dragon products on the market that are distributed by t-rex. They are called Sandfire Superfoods. There is a Veggie Growth Dust, A Veggie Maintanance Dust , and an Insect dust called ICB. The dusts are a complete food, like the pellets, in the form of a powder. You just dust them liberally in your veggies and you have a complete food. I still use the rep-cal pellets regularly, but there are reasons I say the Superfodds are better and here they are.
1.Minimal processing. The ingredients are whole foods and the most processing that goes on is milling of some ingredients.
2.Higher quality protien source...the protein in the dust are from isolated whey. This is a high quality protien that is a common ingedient on meal replacement powders that are sold in the sports nutrition industry.
3.A probiotic blend that aids in maintaining beneficial gut flora.
4.The addition of plant extracts that my enhance coloration in your dragon.
If your in the market to try something new or add to the pellts these dusts are a great place to start.
