head bobbing?

cfresh Mar 27, 2004 09:59 PM

I have a male who is about 16 months old. well I went to the reptile expo and got a 6 month old female. I took them out together to see if they would get along and they were fine. my male was very docile just like tasted her with his tongue. i notixed when i put him back in his bed his beard and under his belly was very very black. now he is in his cage bobbing his head frantically and his beard is black again. is he trying to show aggression to the female?or is he in the mood for love; i know she is way too young i have no intentions of breeding them; i am just wondering is it going to affect his great personality with raging hormones? he is my four year old sons buddy and he spends a lot of time holding him i do not want him getting aggressive. i have never heard of a horny male being aggressive; but i would like sm closure. she is undisturbed by his advances; as they can see each other. I have had her home about 8 hours and she has ate turnip greens about 5 crickets and 4 mealworms. any suggestions ideas. thanks in advance.

Place them so that they can not see each other if the male is horny there is no need for him to like that 24/7 let him rest. No matter the specis males need rest
