hello to all.... i have encountered something with 1 of my albino speckled kings that i have never seen b4 in any of the snakes i have bred.... im only 25 and have been breeding snakes on and off since i was 15... newaze she became gravid on the 2nd of march 25 days ago... it is very obvious she is gravid... i went to offer her a small meal earlier and change her water and noticed she is in blue,real blue..this cant be a pre-egg laying shed already can it.? the soonest i have ever had a speck lay for me was 40 days... it's only been 25 and she is about to shed.. could there be a reason she may shed once more b4 the pre-egg shed...? this is her 1st yr to breed,could it be that the swelling of her body is making her grow a lil more and this be the reason for another shed? or would this have to be the pre-egg lay shed? i have never seen a shed other than the pre-egg shed in a snake from the time they became gravid? someone with ne info please offer it... thank you....

pre egg laying shed help please........

Kingsnakes almost always have a pre-egg laying shed. Nothing to worry about.

YES I KNOW ALL KINGSNAKES GO THRU A PRE EGG LAYING SHED... THAT'S MOST EVERY SNAKE.... MY ? WAS COULD THIS BE POSSIBLE THAT IT IS A SHED B4 THE PRE-EGG SHED.... BEING THAT SHE IS ONLY 25 DAYS GRAVID... I CANT POSSIBLY SEE THIS BEING HER PRE EGG LAYING SHED....

Ok, snakes do amazing things, but this isn't one of them. She may only be 25 days gravid, and she may be going through her pre-egg laying shed. Some Kingsnakes have been known to go through 2 sheds while gravid before laying eggs.
