What is the best general izard husbandry text?

triturus Mar 28, 2004 03:43 AM

I'm considering getting a general lizard book for my nephew who is a freshman in college (Biology, Virginia Tech, he's into herps). So far, I've considered THE LIZARD-KEEPER'S HANDBOOK by Vosjoli, and KEEPING AND BREEDING LIZARDS, by Mattison. Any other suggestions?

Note: my neph seems to have a thing for two particular groups of lizards: Day geckos (Phelsuma) and European/Italian lacertas (Lacerta, Podarcis).

well first of all it is going to be hard to find a book on just lacertas and day geckos.but if you wanted to you could get him the lizard keepers handbook(one of the best general lizard books)and the day geckos book by sean mckeown i believe ius who wrote it.these two are great books published by advanced vivarium systems and written by outstanding authors who know what their talking about.
