crap still happens... i hatched out a little leo last night severely deformed... i dont know why, its clutch mate uis perfect, its from a proven female whom has never throw anything but healthy babies. this saddens me so much, she (the baby) will have to be put down... she is severely deformed phsycally and i supect internally too..... i know all you guys out there who are first time breeders will at one time come across something like this... we all have and it doesnt get easier to deal with in time.i know that along with life comes dedath but so young.. so deformed... just some of my feelings
dont think all aspects of breeding is fun and exciting... MOST of it is but sometimes (few and far between) when something like this happens it just takes a little chunk outa your heart....

I'm so sorry Robin! Any ideas on the cause? Or was it just a random "luck" of the draw? I'm so very sorry. Poor little baby, but it will be better off not suffering.

be sorry for the little leo.. one of my main points was though that at one time or another any of us breeders out there... big or small it's gonna happen to eventually alot of the "newbies" imeddiately want to breed once they get the hang of it and when they see $$$ and even though it is alot of fun and exciting it does have some downfalls, and it's not a bed of roses all the time..... i would be able to save every little deformed leo but i cant and you (the breeder) has to make the decision (and its HARD) to have to put an animal down, it's never easy. however sooner or later it is a decision you will have to make and you have to think do i let it suffer for however many days it might last? can this leo live a completely normal existance with this deormity? is it fair to let the little one be like this? alot of questions you have to ask yourself
