newbie question, not long, please help

grimreaper Mar 28, 2004 09:14 AM

i dont have a blood yet, but i have a long history with reptiles. i have amazon tree boas, and when i got them every one told me they were going to be visous. iv had 3 so far and 2 outta 3 were aswome lovable snakes. so it just goes to show that most snakes are as individual as any one or any thing. ive herd that bloods are ussually agressave, but i love the way they look. so how true is the agressave roomer?
thanx

Some are some aren't, if you have a captive bred baby that you handle frequently they almost always tend to grow into tame, easily handlable adults. If you get a nasty WC import adult you may or may not be able to handle it. All the ones I've had have been handled regularly and are tame as kittens.

Not to discourage you from them. I just got borneoxblack stp and he is still under 2ft he strikes more at anything that moves than any snake I have had or have. He will be a hook and glove snake for a while. I hope to get that taken of before he gets larger. Just to let you know he is from Bob Clark cbb. Awesome looking little guy.

It seems to depend on the individual, and they can go through phases where they can be much more temperamental. If you get a snappy youngster, don't give up. They can calm down as they age, but some of them earn their reputation.
