Large gecko! Tremper?

jjay Jun 12, 2003 04:56 PM

I am newer to the scene and know a little bit by reading this forum and others but I have a question about Tremper gecko's. I have an aquaintance that wants to sell his two geks and I am interested in them. One is (he says) about 1 year old. It was purchased from a reptile show in Arlington, TX. This big boy is 9" long and BIG. Not fat but big! he is a high yellow but not an albino. my question is, are the Tremper giants only albino or are they commons or high yellows also? How would I know if this is a Tremper Giant? Is anyone else producing giants?

I'm grateful for any info you may have.

Thank's in advance.

JJay.

Unless he bought it as a Tremper Giant, then more than likely it isn't one. I have a leo that is 11 inches and huge but he isnt a Tremper giant, just an abnormally large leo. Other people have them to. 9 inches isnt that rare for a leo anyways.

9 inches is not at all unusual for a normal male gecko. My female yellow-normal is 9 inches too.

My Male is 10.5" he makes my 8" female look like a tiny gecko but the breeder that I got him from said that he is just an above average size gecko. I am not sure of the size of a Temper Giant but I know that if you were to see one you would know right away that it was a giant. Anyway good luck to you if you choose to buy the gecko they are a beautiful creature, and a 9" Leo is still a dam good size.

My female right now is atleast 9 inches, cant get her to sit still to measure but stretched out id guess shes about 10" which is pretty big. They can be anywhere from 6" right up to double that without being giants. Just like they're short people and tall people, they're are short geckos and big ones. Good luck,
MaC
