Greenish ventral scales?

shaky@best Mar 28, 2004 03:18 PM

My cal king sometimes has a greenish tent to it's ventral scales (I'm thinking this must have something to do with the shed cycle). This coloration also creeps up the snake's sides to about 1/4 the way up. I don't remember this happening with the Cal king I had in the past. Does anyone else know about this odd coloration? Your thoughts are appreciated.

Well at least it is comforting to know that others experience this color issue. Thanks.

Im kidding. A couple of years back a guy on here purchased a bright grass green Cal King ! He posted pics and everything it was unreal. It ends up shedding and looking normal as the guy he got it from dyed it with food coloring or something. It was pretty damn funny but the dude did lose a couple of bucks in the deal.

Anyway your problem...

Do you keep your Cal on newspaper ? It may be dye from the paper but I wouldnt worry about it.

Yep, I remember the green cali faisco. I use aspen, I think it is, for bedding. Your right, I don't think the greenish color matters in terms of health. I've been meaning to post my question for a while, and the snake continues to grow so it must be healthy. Thanks for the reply.
