I saw your response but it was so far down on the board I didn't get a chance to answer.
Re the size of your '02 from Krysko - I understand dude...and I know you wouldn't jeopordize your snakes for the sake of a "this season" hatch.
I probably "underfeed" my young ones a bit! They're not starving by any means, but I'm not breeding and the like so I try to keep in between too much and a slimming diet like the damm pet shops do!
Once they hit a certain size though, it's balls to the wall for me - I let the snakes eat according to their activity and own personalities; some snakes just eat like there's no tomorrow while others eat plenty but don't seem to be quite the gluttons that I have!
A while back Hillson was telling me about 3 large mice not being a "slimming diet" when I was asking if I should feed one of my 45" Easterns as much as she wanted because she always seemed hungry.
Well, now Keith knows what I mean: that snake was the '00 Enge stock that some of us have gotten over the past few years and now we know that they are large out of the egg and eat like pigs and truly grow like weeds.
Bonkers is 52" and close to 2 lbs now and she's 5 months from being 4! And it's a she, not a male. I fully expect her to be 74" or so down the line. I mean, I've got a wc, big-headed that I just posted a pic of, a 4lb Eastern from GA that's only 55-56" but has to be 10 years old judging from it's head size, eyes that seem to be getting glacauma, and the battle scars he has. Bonkers at 10...shi#, I bet we're talking 74" and 6 lbs. Or at least I hope!
Peace.
