questions about veiled chameleons

chamsrcool Mar 28, 2004 04:59 PM

im switching from jacksons to veileds becuase i wanted more color.....

anyways

is a 38 gallon reptarium too small for a veiled?

if i leave him out side in the indiana sun the temps range from low 60's (usual nights) to mid/low 80's (if a very warm day. average is around 76 i think. anyways are these too low for veileds.

also how many adult sized crickets do veileds eat on average....i know its different for each cham and each day but whats the middle number.

also waht temps are best for veileds....agian im used to jacksons so you dont have to talk about bigging stuff and researching (what im i doing now??)

Those temps are more or less perfect. The 38 gallon reptarium is good until the cham is 3 or 4 months old and should be in a 4'high 2' wide 2' deep screen cage. As far as the amount of bugs they will eat in a day varies on the animals size but usually for a juvi=15-20 crix/dayt or equivalent, for adults (6-8 months old they shoud be eating about 5 bugs every 2 days or 4 times a week.
Correct me if i'm wrong anyone, but I don't think I am.

Just curious, what are you doing with your Jackson's, now that you've decided to get a Veiled?
