EMERGENCY, LEOPARD GECKO DYING!!! ANY HELP APPRECIATED....

busterflan Mar 28, 2004 08:36 PM

Buster just returned from the vet after she was impacted. She passed the sandy stools. She is back home and her abdomen looks back to normal except now she is very thin from not eating in about a week. She has been surviving off of sugar water, nutrients, and mashed crickets in water when we can get her to lick it off her lips. She spends her time lying weak in her cage with her eyes closed, chin up. I find it impossible for her to live like this. So my question is, does anybody know a trick to force feed them or has anyone had a scenario like this one and found a way to cure it. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Jake and Heather.

As you can tell from my posts Im having my share of problems but I got a post from someone telling me to buy this crested lizard diet. I mix a tiny cup and ony give a few cc's in a syringe but my leo loved it and I think it stimulated her eating again. Which Im about to get all the stuff back out and use again.

Anyways by putting the syringe on the rear corner of her mouth and gently lowering her bottom lip the liquid went right "down the hatch". Took a few tries, the first dose she flung her head and splattered my computer monitor.

If you want more info let me know. By all means Im no expert but that liquid IMO was my saving grace.

Get a thing of Jumpstart...Its a nutritional and caloric supplement for reptiles. Its has vitamins and calories in it to help them when they're ill...It got my Tang Albino off death's door when she came to me already pregnant and much too thin to be so.

This is an excellent place to buy it. Under $10 total including shipping. And their service is great.
