Fir as substrate

muirsean Mar 28, 2004 09:32 PM

Has anyone used fir mulch as a substrate? I am unable to find cypress mulch where I live, and I was wondering if fir would be a safe alternative. Any input would be appreciated,
Sean.

I use fir bark. Doesn't hold moisture too well (mulch would do better) but so far no problems!
