Silly Questions

CarolineVye Mar 29, 2004 02:38 PM

Hey Guys,

I've been following this site for quite a while, but I finally have a question that I couldn't fully find the answer to.

I have an adolescent(1.5yrs) corn, male, about 3 feet. Heating, lighting all normal, on aspen substrate

He hasen't eaten in 7 weeks. I know this is normal for adult corns and one shouldn't worry unless they are losing weight.

But he's still young, and its been over a month, he's always fed like a dream and would eat himself to exploding if he had the choice. He is drinking and and pooping and he just shed today.

He was extreemly active at first, then settled down. He's starting to lose a bit of weight, and thats the only reason I am beginning to worry.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

is he the only snake you have? It is "spring" you know I don't know about lone males, but both my adult boys skip a meal or two at this time of the year, they're too busy trying to get at Ruby and Nellie. Maybe if the windows are open he's smelling outdoor snakes even? not sure that's possible, but cats do it.

She is right, it's probably breeding season that is triggering your snake to go off feed. I only had one snake two years ago at this time and he was still very eager to get out and find some female snakes.
