Tank building help please

InsideOutsider13 Mar 29, 2004 03:23 PM

I am looking to construct my own tank for a mali uromastyx. I had posted before and had found out that a 55 gallon is just pushing it on the small side so I would rather them be more comfortable. If you have any information/pictures/blueprints on how to build your own tank within a 3ft. by 3ft. space. I would just like to know about materials and what not. Any information given is a great help! Thanks ahead of time!

Here's a couple of site's you can try:

http://www.herpo.com/cages/cages.html

http://www.arbreptiles.com/cages/cages.html

I used both when building my cages. Hope they help!

The good thing with building Uro enclosures is you don't have to worry too much about how humidity will affect the materials used- since there shouldn't be much.Plywood(finished with a sealer) or melamine coated particleboard works just fine and it is fairly cheap.I'd advise against using any plastic or acrylic.Although it is much easier to work with than glass-your Uros will scratch it up pretty quickly.Mine even put scratches in the glass.
