My Leopard Gecko Will Not Eat! Help!

me19 Mar 29, 2004 05:53 PM

My Leopard Gecko has not eaten anything since Wednesday, March 24. He usually eats 4 large/medium sized crickets every other day. He shed that wednesday, so I did not try to feed him then. However, he has not eaten since. Every night I have tried to feed him, and he shows no interest. Instead of chasing after the crickets, he is now walking the other way and just lying down. He is 2 years old. Does anyone know what might be wrong, or how I could get him to eat? Please help!

try another food type. if that dont work, leave the crickets in teh cage, with a lil sumtin to eat so the crickets dont chomp on the leo. if it still doesnt eat after bout a week, consider a vet visit.

maybe the temps are to low, that could have slowed its metabolism.

A lot of leos go off food this time of year. He might just be in the mood to cool down for a bit.

Also try superworms, most leos can't resist them, and you can keep them in a deepish bowl with a piece of carrot and not have to worry about them running around nibbling on your leo or passing parasites.

As an aside, I was getting worried that my leo wasn't getting enough food (he's ~40 grams and has only been eating one superworm every 2 or 3 days), but it turns out that he's developed some small fat bulges under his armpits.
