I posted a question the other day about whether the Exo-Terra mini-fogger would be dangerous to me or my iguana. In the same hour, I found the parent website of Exo-Terra, which is Hagen (USA) Corp, and wrote to them. Here is what they had to say, I hope it will be helpful to others considering this device or already owning it. Or at least amusing.
1) I wrote:
"Hi, I was wondering if it was safe for me to let my iguana touch the Mini-Fogger while it was plugged in and in the water. I do not plan to buy it with the waterfall, just to put it in his bath container to get some extra air humidity. But the warnings say, "Do not take out of water before unplugging". Why? How does the fogger work? Is it safe to touch while it is in the water? Thanks!"
2) Sharon Emond, Customer Service Dept. Rolf C. Hagen (USA) Corp. wrote:
"Dear Erin, The fogger should be kept in a separate container from the water that the reptile will be in."
3) I wrote,
"What kind of damage would it do to me or my iguana if one of us were to touch it?"

"Dear Erin, It could burn you."
OOookay. This could be made far more obvious on the instructions included with the device! There was NOTHING saying this on or in the package. I mean, I guess I should be able to figure out that water electricity = ouch. But I got better information from this forum than from any of the product warnings, the website, or customer service, and much faster. Guess I'll cross that fogger off of my shopping list.
