Built an enclosure, have a question

jm297667 Mar 29, 2004 07:04 PM

I just finished making a new 4x4 cage for my okeetee. The bottom is wood, I was wondering if there are any chemicals on the wood that could hurt the snake? Its just a 1/2inch oak board I got from the lumber yard. I always hear about people who have snakes that convulse because of chemicals in their enclosure.
Thanks,
-Jud

you need to make sure you treat the wood with a water based solvent and let it completely cure that gos for the whole cage. 4x4 is huge and going to be a bear to heat as well good luck with it. i built a 4x2x2 and it took a good part of two weeks before i could get the temps perfect in there let alone put a snake in it

The next time the shuttle lands, lets all get dressed up in ape suits and charge at the astronaughts yelling and ranting. That way they can try to figure out where they took a wrong turn.
