Question about when starting cultures and dart behavior..

kcaiman Mar 29, 2004 08:40 PM

First off, recently a couple of cultures have not produced any flies... The medium just 'sat there' and didn't even settle down all the way(and yes it was wet enough). The flies didn't produce larva at all, just a few little black dots were around the media.

Now for the farts...
My azureus have been acting kind of strainge. Recently they've been acting a little shy. Also not all three come out at once, often it takes a while before the thrid(smallest and newest) to come out and feed. Could it be feeding schedual? Have any of you noticed this?

thanks in advance

SOmetimes cultures take a while to get going. I have soem that will do great right away and other that will sit there and not do anything. I make them all the same way. This is why I always have like 10 or more going at a time.

As far as the frogs go, they do establish a hierarchy and some will be more bold then other. I would never see my azureus when I first put them in their tank, but after 2 weeks or so, they started coming out. Now is seems that they are out all of the time, thought two of them are out more then the others.

Lol, those 'd' and 'f' keys are mighty close together, I'm surprised it doesnt happen more often on this board.
