Thanks for all ur opinions you guys are tons of help. To me its not so much the looks of a snake or anything like that but like most of you said im AMAZED with these creatures. True i do not have much expierence with large constrictors, but have been dealing with reptiles for 5 years or so, monitors boas pythons so on. Even tho most of u say they are ugly i tend to disagree although they arent the prettiest snake, but the most interesting. If i plan on getting one i do plan on doing much research and asking you guys MANY questions, and also buying a baby to start with and get it used to me and me only. Any comments or advice is welcome thanks guys~Matt

Hi Matt, You have a few choices a male yellow 6-10 feet about the size of a big redtail, a female yellow 10-13feet, a male green 10-13 feet and last a female green 15-+++++feet. If I were going to get into anacondas I would find a good breeder (NERD) and get a yellow anaconda of eather sex then IF I wanted a green I would find the best darn anaconda breeder that I could find (they are out there)and buy myself a baby male green. The reason I say male is that in my opinion "normal" people (average hobbiest) should not have a female green. They get just to darn big and I like to be able to hold my pet snakes not let them sit in a cage and look at them. So whatever anaconda that you deside to get have fun with it and take lots of pix of it and if you have more questions thats what this forum is for. ---Eric---

If you go to www.newenglandreptile.com they have care sheets on both yellow and green anacondas.
