how big do they get and how tame are they
I just said 18" to 26" is a good ball park. How tame hmm again with that word. If you want something to kiss, cuddle and not bite don't get a monitor. It can may and will happen.
I've been bitten by my lep. gecko's and bearded dragons, so I don't even call them tame. I do call them calm so elaborate on what ya mean by tame.
i dont want something to cuddle i already have a savana, tegu and geting a timors monitor, i know what a monitor can do so dont think i'm an impulse buyer, i need to know of a small monitor that will not (given the chance harm my baby brother)
Well ackies are over your $100 price. If your looking for something that will not harm your baby brother then don't look for a monitor. Don't look for anything with teeth for that matter.
At any given time anything can bite, whether it be a frog or a dog. Thats why I said I have even been bitten by a beardie or gecko. My son is only 2 and he recieved a good bite from one of my ackies. He got some little teeth marks a little blood. Yelled at the naughty lizar telling it repeatedly NO NO that hurt me. But all in all is none the worse for the wear.
So again I am not sure exactly what your looking for, but you are coming across as you want something that is guaranteed not to harm , or bite. Thats not gonna happen anytime soon.
just how much are ackie monitors, trust me i've been biten by monitors, pythons, and anything you can think of i know nothings evey truly tame i just need to know are they a lizard that can be tamed with time and persistance.
Well since you have reptiles and monitors, and been bitten by everything i can think of. HMMMM does that include green mambas? rattlers? komodos? sharks? lions? tigers? and bears? oh my?
How about you do a little leg work, and go click on classifieds, then monitors and see what the prices are for ackies yourself.
You're going to have LOTS of fun with that Timor monitor. Especially if you try to pick it up. What they lack in size they make up for in aggravation.
