When breeding M. hissing roaches is it necassary to seperate the babies from the adults, or can you just leave the colony together? Any recommendations on a good size container?

No, you don't need to separate anyone. You do need to provide heat if you want them to really breed well. Layers within the container is more important than container size. I have a couple hundred in a 10gallon tank.
