need advice... snake on a hunger strike!

mickmarkus Mar 30, 2004 07:39 AM

Hi friends
My youngest corn (~ i year) has decided he no longer needs to eat. He refused food prior to his last shed, shed normally and now simply will not take food. He has only ever eaten F/T mice and used to like them just fine. Here are the questions:
1) how often should I try to feed him?
2) any strategies on getting a yearling to eat?
Thanks
-mick

I just read the posts a few below with similar concerns. I am not sure my male has reached sexual maturity.

I just read the similar stories below... My yearling is a male, and simply ignores food. Good temps and he is behaving normally. From what I have read it seems this may be normal at this time of year. What do you think?

Ive seen male yearlings hit puberty if there fed well enough.I wouldnt sweat it.My male amel has not eaten in 2 months. He will put it in his mouth and drag it into his hide and let it rot.If your snake still has plenty of meat on his bones i wouldnt worry yet....Paul
