The evil soul corrupting camera...like we believe that! You already had an evil streak a half-mile wide. LOL...just teasing you. Neat tarantula. You won't find one in my house but I love looking at the pictures. Especially of the brightly colored ones. Hey, weren't you the one who started the post last year about being terrified of spiders?

Did I see you mention a new baby on the way? Congrats if I did!

I've actually managed to hold some kind of tarantula without gloves before but they're still creepy. Good luck with those things. Now I have this image of you with big welding gloves, hopping around and screaming everytime the big hairy thing moves too fast.

Keep us posted on that new kid thing. I bet you can't wait until it hatches so you can see what morph it is. :P

great looking rosehair! i had 2 of those for about 5 years until i moved out to the west coast, and had to part with them.... but luckily i have a friend that is keeping them now. i loved consuela (the big female i had). she was fascinating and so tame. if we had the room here i'd certainly get another one. for now my spoiled corn snake is taking up all my pet time. heh.

This female i have is so skittish i cant even chase her down. She is the only bug Ive ever seen with a Pavlov's response. When i open the screen she is ready to chow.I have never seen a tarantula move so fast. She has never reared up on me but she wont behave and hold still.Being horrified of her and wearing welders gloves doesnt help much either.hehehe...Paul

hahaha! i remember the welding gloves stage. at the time they didn't seem like enough. i have a very experienced herp friend who wouldn't go near the tarantula either. we both eased ourselves into it. actually when i first got it, we were keeping it in an open styrofoam cooler container thing because he explained to me that he was pretty sure they couldn't climb up walls. obviously, he wasn't even close. when we went to check on her, she was still there, only climbing down the outside of the container. i can't imagine the chaos that would have ensued. soon after, we obtained a 10 gallon and a locking lid. whew. we were rookies, what can i say? heh.
