Can someone ID this snake?? ***PICS***

This little guy was found today buried in some pine needles...

Location: North Alabama

Very blurry... sorry...

Excuse the crappy pics!

He looks very racer-ish. Black, with a grey pattern that slowly fades to nothing twords his tail. Very pretty coppery spots on his underside.... fiesty little guy.

Any help would be appreciated!

Northern Alabama is a contact zone between two ssps. of Black Racer. To the east to central it is the Northern (Coluber c. constrictor)to the west it is (Coluber c.priapus) the Southern Racer. There is a wide area of intergradiation that runs between the two. If you can list the county I can give you a better idea of what you have.
