my mali has not eaten for over a month. despite this, she is very active and basks daily. i am extremely concerned with this, but she will just not eat. has anybody experienced this and might have a tid-bit of information. i would greatly appreciate any advice you might offer. thank you for your help.

i had a similar situation with my red saharan. she didn't eat for more than 2 weeks. it did not have a happy ending. she became extremely dehydrated. lets hope your situation is different. i'm sure this could be due to a number of reasons. in my opinion i'd say take your baby to a vet. hopefully it is nothing seriuos, but that's what i would do. hope all goes well. let us know how it goes. good luck! laura

because if she hasnt eaten in over a month she would most likely be dead. If you have a video camera set it up near the food dish and record for a day. Leave the room and dont come in. Neither of my uros will eat if I am paying any attention to them.

Have you done anything for this? have you tried force feeding with a syringe? Soaking ? taken to vet? not eating for a month sounds very very suspicious to me...and not good. What are you feeding him? Could be many things but need more info.

Good luck!

my poor baby used to eat such a voraciuous eater. she would literally fly to the food and eat everytime i put it in there. her diet is very varied - all sorts of natural greens, lovely green grapes, and the occasional crickets. from one day to another she just stopped eating - it's very sad. now her routine is sleeping, basking, and returning to her sleep. she does this daily and i'm beyond worried i've tried everything and she is just not improving i'm so worried.

make sure that he stays hydrated, this is very important, not eating for a month means that he most likely is or will soon become dehydrated.
Also, try feeding peas and counting them when you put them in the cage and at the end of the day count again to see if he is eating when you are not watching. also they love peas, its a great way to get a uro back on track.
