Eggs incubating...

MagickDragon Mar 30, 2004 08:12 PM

My little girl laid a clutch of 32 recently, so
I have my first clutch of babies in the incubator, I am so nervous. By my calculation they have another 2 weeks. I just want to ease my mind, so I have some questions. The eggs look firm and round, does that sound good? The humidity is good, as I keep water in the bottom section of the hovabator and use a dropper to add water to the vermiculite near the eggs. Also, my temp is between 82-85 degrees (it flucuates) but mainly stays near 83.5 degrees. Does that sound ok and how long is normal to hatch when the eggs are incubated at those temps? I can't wait to see what the babies look like, as I said I am so nervous, this being my first clutch in the incubator.
Can any one ease my mind?? Thanks so much
(Sorry this post is so long)

Everything sounds fine... if they only have another two weeks to go they sound like they are about 6 weeks old and you would more then likely know if they were infertile long before this. You can candle the eggs with a flashlight in a dark room and check for embrys and all.. sometimes you can actually see the dragon move. At 83.1 degrees our average length ranges from 62 to 73 days.

Congrats on the eggs and good luck.
