Puff has coccidia-however question on Bathing and Feces...

xitch45 Mar 30, 2004 08:58 PM

My beardy has coccidia and another worm, but because i work at a vet, she will be getting some meds tomorrow!!! Anyway, Puff had been on sand for most of the time i had her, i just switched to shelf liner. 1st of all, i dislike it much. Whenever she defecates she just speads it ALL over her cage. Sand can cause impaction i know, but it is a lot cleaner. I think after she is fully clear of worms i'm going to switch her back (any thoughts would be great). But, my main question is because she walks in her poop, how do I clean it off so when she gets dewormed, she stays that way?? I bathe her once a week, but the feces is stuck on her feet. ANy help here would be great as well. Also, sorry for my rambling.

Every time my little guy who had coccidia would poo, I would check for any on him and bath him right away. It helped..

day to clean out the mess, it does work. You also should have a paper towel folded in the area they poo in to absorb the fluid of it. once the dragons get use to that, they are pretty good about only going on the paper towel.

Good luck with treating the coccidia and worms, many dragons do get them and if you need help with support methods for them, let us know
